About me, the Artist, and my work.
I am a freehand Artist. I was born and reside in the State of California. As a teenager, I lived in Colorado with my family, where I attended, and graduated from High School. Central High in Grand Junction, Colorado, year 1977. I have no real art education beyond the few high school classes of my teenage years. I did not have the opportunity to attend College because of issues with my health, and disability. I lost the desire to create after I graduated because I wanted to further my education, but could not afford to. It was a setback that I excepted, and moved on with my life. I took on various jobs like making burgers, and sandwiches, later working as an electronics assembler, and even took a job for a short time in Oregon building axels for mobile homes. As I got older, my disability eventually forced me to use a wheelchair.
I grew up pencil drawing, since a small child. It was my Father that instilled a desire in me to draw. I use to watch him create portraits of me, and my younger sister from photographs. My Dad never had the opportunity to do something with his talent. He worked hard, and took care of his family.
So, about the time I reached my late 20's, and recovering from one of several surgeries throughout my life, I started to draw again. I had these visions, dreams, and soon I put them on paper. I love my Creator, Father God in Heaven, and his Son, Christ Jesus. I am great friends with the Holy Spirit Comforter. I met them as a teenager, but it took me years to understand my purpose in life. That I had a gift to create because of them. As years have gone by, I am more the Artist I hoped to be, because my confidence is in my Creator who has instilled in me the Spirit to create what I can see. I draw from my imagination, my dreams, and visions that come to me. I am inspired the most by them. I am also inspired by life around me, and from other Artist's. I work in realism, abstract, the surreal, fantasy, and more. I love landscapes, flowers, space scenes (science fiction nutter that I am), and nature scenes. I am also good with portraits. My Creator is not limited, nor am I in what I can do. Sometimes, I love to challenge myself in new things with the mediums I love, which are watercolor, pencil, color pencil, graphite, oil pastels, including soft pastel pencils, and charcoal.
If ever I would use a "model" source for my creations, that will be noted next to the work I do, and share. I am trying something new for me, and that is selling my work in prints. I have included on this website the place I have my work available on a popular web printing service site. Just click onto my link for artistwebsites domain.
I hope to offer my works in originals, when I am ready and able to sell my work from home. I have artworks that I am currently working on that I will eventually show to sell as originals. Some of them will be much larger then the current works available now.
If you like my work, I would very much like to know. No purchase is required. Just the pleasure in the viewership. You will have noticed my blog page, comments page, and guest book page at the top of this profile. I blog about changes to my websites, what work I'm doing, what I plan for the future, and more.
I hope you like what you see, and will visit often. I add new artworks as they become available.
Now comes my gallery of artwork. Enjoy the view.
In peace,
Janet Hinshaw

A Father's Day Tribute
For June 19, 2011
You were my influence, for my love of art.
I watched you with your own talent in
drawing the portraits of your daughters.
Even with the challenges in my life as a
child with many health issues, and disability,
you gave me the one thing, next to the
the understanding that there is a God in
Heaven, who loves me, that I am forever
grateful to you for. Thank you.
I miss you. I wish you were here to hug, and
laugh with again.
I love you, Dad.

Band Logo Artwork.
Artist: Janet Hinshaw
April 6, 2011
3MF
http://www.3mfband.com/fr_welcome.cfm
This artwork, is 8" x 10" in size, is drawn on matt style photograph paper, for it's thickness and durability. Created with black ink, and black, and white color graphite pencil. Value price of $200.00, will not be shown in any other form on this site. This work was coated with a spray fixative, after this photograph, and is now much brighter in contrast. My signature is purposely covered, with the date of photograph taken as proof of my work.
Please Note> All copyrights are subject through contract with 3MF. 3MF is the soul owner of this logo, and all future copies, in any form. @04-07-2011
This is the band logo I had been working on in the past 5/6 weeks. To see the final form of this band logo, and get to know 3MF. Learn about how they chose the band name, and what 3MF stands for. Hear their songs, as their music is quite appealing to all ages.
Visit their other sites, which you will find links to from here. http://www.3mfband.com/fr_welcome.cfm
3MF writes all their own music. Their songs are their own. A very talented group of young men, with a highly promising future in the music they love. It's worth the time to check them out. They truly are that good.
Peace

* "Where Broken Hearts Go." May 2008
9 x 12 #2 pencil Drawing on drawing paper.
Inspired by the Poem/Song, Where Do Broken hearts Go? Written by Myspace friend, Rock Legend Bill Pascali, Artist, Singer, Song Writer, Author and Keyboard player formerly of Vanilla Fudge band, now known as The New Rascals since 2008. Bill is Author of the book, The Ghost of Rock and Roll. Myspace profile link: @ http://www.myspace.com/billpascali
I created this drawing before I met Bill on Myspace, so it was a shock to meet him after my work was done and realize he was the Author of the poem and member of the band.
This pencil drawing is now available for purchase in print.
